Art has been a part of my life since I was a child.  I loved designing clothing for my paper dolls and working with chalk and those awful tempera paints we had in grade school.  While I earned a degree in zoology in college, I never really left the art world.  I found time for classes in drawing and commercial art.  My only exposure to watercolor was hearing an art major complain about how difficult watercolor was.

Although I tried oils and acrylics, I was never satisfied with the results.  Friends who were taking watercolor classes piqued my interest. I had to give it a try, so I signed up for a community school class.  The minute I picked up the brush I knew it was me.  Since then I have been developing my skills by taking classes and workshops, and by spending time painting.  As a retiree, I have the luxury of being able to paint nearly every day.  I paint a variety of subjects, especially flowers, people and animals.  Many of my paintings are inspired by our trip to Israel and Jordan.  I paint exclusively in watercolor.
